CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE TRAINING

Harrison County Lifelong Learning, in partnership with Kaiser Healthcare Certification, is now offering CNA Training in Corydon. The program includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 75 hours of clinical experience. Students will be fully prepared for the written competency and procedure evaluation exam administered by the Indiana State Department of Health.

QUALIFIED MEDICATION AIDE TRAINING

Harrison County Lifelong Learning, in partnership Kaiser Healthcare Certification, is offering a Qualified Medication Aide course. To qualify for training, a student must be a certified nurse aide in good standing plus be able to furnish a work history showing at least 1,000 hours work experience as a CNA. During training students will learn anatomy, physiology and pharmacology as well as demonstrate competency while dispensing and passing medications. This 8-week course meets once a week and includes 40 hours of clinical experience.

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION

Harrison County Lifelong Learning, in partnership with Vincennes University, offers Phlebotomy Technician Certification. Participants learn to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. The course also includes CPR/First Aid Training and an externship to gain real world experience. Workforce Ready Grant funds help Hoosier adults with the cost of training.

CERTIFIED CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT TRAINING

Harrison County Lifelong Learning, in partnership with Vincennes University, offers a non-credit program to prepare medical assistant students to perform patient clinical skills in a medical office setting. Students perform procedures including administering medications, assisting in minor surgery, performing an electrocardiogram, obtaining laboratory specimens, educating patients and maintaining clinical equipment.

DENTAL ASSISTANT CERTIFICATION

Harrison County Lifelong Learning, in partnership with Vincennes University, offers a non-credit training program to prepare students for an entry-level position in the one of the fastest growing healthcare careers. Class includes training so that students may be licensed by the Indiana State Department of Health as a Limited Dental Radiographer.
