Job Summary: To operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) at ICON Metal Forming in Corydon.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School education with mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be a Team Player
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required
  • Ability to work on different shifts as required
  • Ability to organize workload in an organized and tidy manner
  • Support Quality System, Safety and Environmental Management System requirements
  • Must be willing to perform tasks that are of reasonable request by Supervisor
  • Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition

Essential Functions:

  • Weld all and any metal assembly parts within provided weld specifications
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time as provided
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the Company
  • Inspect all welds to ensure conformance to specifications as well as removal of all spatters
  • Assemble parts according to instructions provided
  • Operate a welding cell and or assembly line and to perform other duties according to specific job instructions provided
  • Work in a safe manner, obeying all health and safety regulations. Report all unsafe acts and conditions to Supervisor and/or the Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Follow instructions/ directions as required by Supervisor and/or Team Leader
  • Complete all production and quality documentation in an accurate and timely manner as required including labelling process.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction and safety requirement
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintain at all time at the work cell
  • Ensure that only quality parts are passed on to the next operation
  • Ensure that production quota is met on each shift

Working Environment:

  • 100% plant floor (PPE required)

Physical Demands:

  • Require communication with employees, peers and management
  • Lifting and pushing as needed

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
