Awningtec USA has been serving in the Canopy & Sign industry for over 35 years providing world class custom awnings, canopies, illuminated signs, LED lighting, LED Channel letters, roof access ladders, specializing in sheet metal fabrication, CNC routing, plastics vacuum forming, vinyl graphics and durable paint finishes.
Awningtec USA is a growing company encouraging experienced Graphics Technician/Sign Maker to join our TEAM. Candidates who demonstrate exceptional ability and work ethic will have excellent opportunity for advancement. Starting pay is based on previous experience in graphics and signs. This is a physical vinyl application position not a computer graphics design position. PAY BASED UPON EXPERIENCE.
Description:
In this position, you will be part of a creative fabrication team that specializes in the production of custom architectural and decorative canopies and signs. Ideal candidates are organized, proactive, action and goal oriented, reliable, competent, and passionate about the quality of their work.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl on a pre-determined substrate or medium
- Prepare materials for application, which may include cutting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application
- Weeding excess vinyl from computer cut images, masking and applying to substrates.
- Stretch and Staple awnings and sign faces.
- Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of cut vinyl pieces
- Help unload and store raw materials and clean and maintain storage areas
- Ability to multitask and work on different projects simultaneously
- Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Exceptional Attendance
- Strong PC and sign production software skills ex: Corel Draw, Sign Lab etc.
- Ability to operate Accu-Bend to produce Channel letters
- Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals)
- Strong organization skills, able to multi-task and manage frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- The ability to work well in a team environment where situations and demands change daily
- Problem solving skills in a fast-paced, and at times, stressful environment
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- United States i-9 work authorization
