This position is responsible for ensuring that team members are properly trained on procedures to operate and/or maintain machinery while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Train TM’s to learn the safest practices, best production techniques and to understand quality control while interfacing with management on a regular basis. This job requires knowledge of the process workflow and production in the locations manufacturing environment. Assists with new hire orientation in a professional manner. Deliver policy and plant information, describe floor positions, follow orientation agenda and be interactive with orientation class. Attend team meetings with training specialist. Print badges for new hires. Track new hires orientation time and submit to training specialist. Filing of new hire paperwork. Coordinates training, trains and monitors trainees to assure quality of work and progression towards qualification. Ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks. Tracks tardiness, absenteeism and availability of trainees. Observes behavior of trainees while performing job and responds to potential problems towards the qualification process and to ensure the safety of individuals. Must be able to work and accomplish job tasks without constant supervision along with the ability to improve team member morale. Trainer will have 8-13 trainees qualify at one time.

One year of related prior work experience in manufacturing or production preferred.  Must be able to learn/understand specialized departmental equipment operation including forklifts, pallet jacks, push carts, scales and production packaging equipment. Ability to effectively train and direct the workforce to meet production goals/objectives in a high-volume department. Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities. Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. May be required to stand, walk, bend, stoop for long periods. Lift boxes or equipment up to 25 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Experience with Excel or ability to learn. High School Diploma or GED. Must be fluent in English in both written and verbal form, 2nd language to include Somali or Swahili or Arabic would be a plus.
