Job Summary
Join the small, but dedicated Office team for the Town of Corydon, Indiana’s first state capital. The HR Representative supports the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to onboarding, and administrative HR operations in a close-knit, local government setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment processes: post openings, schedule interviews, and perform initial candidate contacts.
- Maintain and update employee records both paper and digital.
- Facilitate onboarding for new hires: prepare orientation packets, collect forms, and orient employees to policies.
- Respond to routine HR inquiries and guide employees to appropriate resources.
- Help schedule and coordinate employee training, workshops and internal meetings.
- Support compliance with town policies and state labor regulations.
- Help prepare HR- related documents: contracts, reports, policy updates, and spreadsheets.
- Perform general administrative tasks: filing, calendaring, mail distribution, and basic office duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field: or in progress.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior administrative experience or internships in HR or public sector preferred – but not required.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a municipal governance environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
