SUMMARY
Drives truck equipped with dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
Never operate unsafe equipment.
Drive in a safe manner.
Never run through water or over rocks in the road or pit.
Inspect all dump zones and stockpiles before dumping loads.
Lower bed before leaving dump zones.
Assist plant operator as needed for repairs and maintenance.
If problems arise, contact plant operator or supervisor for help.
Load trucks so that no material is spread on roadways.
Check bed for contamination when switching stone sizes.
Ensure that assigned vehicle meets appropriate company and governmental guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of stone sizes.
Knowledge and understanding of all equipment.
Knowledge of road patterns.
Ability to get a stone sample and dump it for Quality Control Technician.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
