JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the Staff Auditor is responsible for performing or assisting in the planning and execution of compliance and operational audits.  This individual regularly interacts with mid-level management to discuss issues and recommends improved business practices.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in performing compliance and operational audits of business operations at various EBCI properties.
  • Assist in examining and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
  • Assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and document business processes and controls in accordance with established department standards.
  • Contribute to a strong relationship with property mid-management and staff.
  • Assist in presenting verbal and written results of audit activities various levels of management and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • Four-year degree in accounting or finance from accredited college or university, or four-year degree with sufficient courses in accounting and auditing preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to comfortably communicate to all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles/standards, and familiarity with various computer systems and applications, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a changing environment.
  • Must conduct themselves in a positive, credible, ethical manner at all times.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.  Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers and employees.  Ability to communicate policies and procedures with individuals or groups. Ability to effectively present information.
  • Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (minimum of four hours).
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino; from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and/or push a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects and the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises, and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Periodic travel of approximately 15% may be required.
